Areas of Service

Criminal Law

The criminal courts in Ontario are divided between the Ontario Court of Justice ( OCJ)  and the Superior Court of Justice ( SCJ) . I work in both courts. Appeals take place in the Superior Court of Justice, for appeals of summary matters and in the Ontario Court of Appeal for trials in the SCJ. I do not generally do appeals but would be able to refer you to lawyers who do.
As my office is in Toronto, my main area of service is the courts in the City of Toronto. Up till now that has included the following:
Old City Hall – 60 Queen St. West, Toronto
College Park- 444 Yonge St, Toronto
1911 Eglinton Ave East, Scarborough
1000 Finch West, North York
2201 Finch West
311 Jarvis St, ( Youth Court)

in 2023, a new Courthouse for the OCJ is scheduled to be ready in downtown Toronto that is intended to include all of the above noted courts.

In addition to these Toronto Courts, I have always practiced in jurisdictions outside of Toronto, including Brampton, Milton, Orangeville, Guelph and Hamilton in the west. In the north, I can travel to Newmarket, Bradford, Orillia and Barrie. In the east I often go to Oshawa.

As for territories beyond that, generally they would be too far, however, with Covid, almost all courts have been conducted remotely and as a result, it has made it possible for me to practice effectively anywhere in the Province.
